The Men in Blue will depart for the USA for the T20 World Cup 2024 in two separate batches, on May 25 and May 26.
News About Practice Match for T20 World Cup 204
Talk about the Twenty20 World Cup 2024 has begun to circulate as the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season draws to a close. The buildup to the tournament is heating up as nearly every team has confirmed their roster for the main event, which will take place in the USA and the West Indies.
Rumour has it that India will play in just one practice match before the 2024 Cricket World Cup, the biannual championship that begins in two years. The tight scheduling of the IPL calendar is the reason why there hasn’t been an official confirmation on the same.
On May 26, 2024, the Indian Premier League (IPL) will come to a close. On June 5, India will face Ireland in New York to begin their Twenty20 World Cup campaign. Nevertheless, squad India’s first group is scheduled to leave on May 25. The very short time between the two tournaments doesn’t give much room, and for logistical reasons, the squad has allegedly decided to play a single match.
According to Cricket One, the team’s home ground in New York City will host the warm-up match, as per the decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). When discussing possible practice matches, Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the ICC had previously proposed a Florida venue. However, Indian players are hesitant to fly from New York to Florida and back again for their first game in the T20 World Cup 2024. They will be traveling from India once the IPL concludes.
India’s schedule for T20 World Cup 2024
The highly-anticipated encounter between Pakistan on June 9 and India, one of their four Group A matches, will both be played in New York. On June 15, they will play Canada in their fourth match in Florida.
At the same time, reports indicate that the ICC has made adjustments to the playing conditions for the second T20 World Cup semi-final.
In the event of a rain delay, the second semi-final will now take place across a total of 250 minutes, or 4 hours and 10 minutes, thanks to the decision by the cricket governing body and the West Indies, the other co-host.
